Favorite Things

Lately, I've been anti my usual pinks and reds. I couldn't get my hands on Chanel's limited edition Black Satin polish in stores (& also not willing to drop $60 on ebay). I'll patiently wait for Chanel's "black" for Spring. In the interim, I picked up Mac's Nocturnelle ($10).

Can't leave home without my C.O. Bigelow Mentha Lip Shine. You were lucky if you were able to grab one of these at Coffee Bean. But, if not - you can buy it for only $7.50. Great day time gloss. Non-sticky and smells so minty fresh. When I want super glossed pink lips, I go with Dior's a Lick of Taffy #151"
What I love about this shade is that it's versatile. It works for all times of the day.

And lastly, 40% off sales racks at Bloomingdales. Begins November 2nd. I checked it out this past weekend, and picked up a white eyelet Marc Jacobs dress - hugely discounted and perfect for Spring. Check it out!!

Plaid Happy

For trends, the most important thing of going in and out of fashion is coming back into fashion. Plaid has its seasons and we happen to be amidst of one - although, it's my opinion that you can always get away with plaid. I always like to throw on a plaid blazer every now and again. What's your pick for plaid? Here's mine.

The Plaid Dress

The Plaid Jacket (short)
Victoria's Secret, $148

The Plaid Jacket (long)

Spa says...

Spa says to exfoliate once or twice a week to rid your face of those dead cells. My roommate introduced me to Gommage 303 by Yon-ka Paris. Citric ingredients such as lemon extract and orange and lime essiential oils work to gently exfoliate, brighten, and hydrate your skin. Apply a layer on your face, leave on for a few minutes, and whisk away the dead cells using your fingertips.

Collection Bebe by David Cardona

"The Collection includes strapless gowns and bubble skirts, shown with knee-length leggings and long patent-leather gloves. Skirts and bloomers have balloon hems. Pants are high-waisted and cut slim, tapering at the angle or cuffed into capris. Generous use of silk, satin, jersey, and chiffon give designs that elegant look and graceful flow. Asymmetrical lines add interest to almost every piece. Single straps, geometric details and unbalanced collars lend an edgy feel to the sophisticated collection." -- from Bebe.com

First, Mischa Barton became the cover girl for Bebe and now, we're seeing Bebe's attempt at high-fashion. Though I must admit, first cut doesn't look too shabby. Collection Bebe made its debut at LA's Fashion Week. There was definite chic and sophistication strutting down the runway. Price point of this line is high with dresses going for $500 ...to coats, at prices reaching $1000.

There's definitely glam potential but I can't imagine spending that much for Bebe. I wonder if Bebe's new collection is strong enough to manage this drastic shift. Thoughts anyone?

Handbags by CC Skye

CC Skye has expanded from jewelry to handbags. I've been eyeing this purse ever since this Daily Candy article popped up in my inbox. The chain decor makes it a bit Marc Jacob-ish. Love the tote style. Won't be available in stores until December but you can preorder the Skye bag ($825) online at CCSkye.com.

The line also includes clutches (the Ferrante clutch, $415, as shown below) and cute make up bags ($175).

Yay or nay?

"Domino" - Kors by Michael Kors, $345.

Cute factor? Let's check....

Slouchy? *check
Chunky platform? *check
Suede? *check
Black? *check
Knee high?

SO, in my opinion, they seem to fit all but one of my wants and needs. I've been especially wanting something a bit higher on the leg - similar to the Neptune, also by Kors - $395.

I actually like the white trim and the flap on top. I think it adds a little something to the boot AND it comes in black.

My shoe collection is missing a pair of tall black boots but the decisions are endless.

While I Was Out

While I was "out", I watched Jeffrey Sebelia win Project Runway. Although I was rooting for Michael, Jeffrey may have deserved the win. He has experience, he knows the business, and came up with some pretty innovative pieces. So, hats off to you Jeffrey.

October was Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I hope you all were able to pitch in for a good cause, and hopefully - one day, we'll discover a true cure.

I fell in love. I've worn my beloved Balenciaga to the bone but I may have found a replacement.
I love Balenciaga's quilted motorcycle. As seen on Lindsay Lohan. Read the scoop on this bag @ the Bag Lady.

Paris and Nicole became friends again? It was all a lame publicity stunt to begin with. Their 20 minutes is over.

LA Fashion Week ends today. And happening tonight is LA's second annual Fashion Awards. Yah, I was late on all the going-on's in the industry but I was still in tune. I can't get my subscriptions forwarded to me fast enough. Miss my Vogue and US Weekly.

20% Off

Bootilicious

It's week 3 and I still have no bed. Internet is being installed Sunday which will allow me to post more regularly. Thank goodness.

Compare above, the Suede Janice Ankle Bootie, by Bebe ($139) to last years D&G ankle booties that were $500+.

Perfect with skinny capris or ankle jeans.

Anyone for the MJ suede ankle booties? $515 on shopbop.com

Now to my favorites, the Christian Louboutin ankle booties, $890 at Neiman Marcus. Drooling over these kicks.

Jan Marini - Age Intervention Eyelash

It's all about the eyelashes these days and the craze has gone beyond what any mascara can do. Trish McEvoy's eyelash curling mascara can't even compete. From eyelash salons to extensions to the most innovative eyelash technology....anything to get fuller, longer, thicker lashes.

If you're having qualms about getting extensions, there are other options. You have the Age Intervention Eyelash by Jan Marini Skin Research.

This product helps to grow your eyelashes, no matter how thin or sparse. For $160, you can have real fuller, longer, thicker lashes. Pros - 1) you don't have to resort to fake lashes, which will inevitably make your lashes even thinner when removed. 2) no maintenance required, other than daily application 3) eventually, you may not even need mascara. Cons - 1) i read a review that this stuff can make hair grow anywhere, so just be careful when applying.

It's sold out mostly everywhere but you can get it online at Amazon or at Fred Segal Beauty.
